Eddie Jordan passed away earlier this year. The former F1 team boss ran his own team during his career, including handing Michael Schumacher his debut. His knowledge and experience made big names in modern F1 history, including Toto Wolff and Christian Horner, nervous, according to David Coulthard.

In the Indo Sport Podcast, Coulthard said: "When he passed, the last of his kind, I think has left us. I do not believe there will be an entrepreneurial Grand Prix team owner like Eddie ever again."

The former F1 driver knew Jordan well. They worked together on a Formula 1 podcast for a long time after their influential careers within motorsports.

What stood out for the eight-time Grand Prix winner was the Irishman's aura. "So many sport has changed in so many different ways now, he could [still] call out Toto Wolff, Christian Horner, Stefano Domenicali, Guenther Steiner when he was there, he could call them out and they had nothing but either an answer for him or a nervous laugh."

"Whereas any other individual within the Formula One community would call them out, they would put them on their list of, tell the press officer they're not talking to them," added the former McLaren and Red Bull Racing driver.

‘Wolff and Horner couldn't touch him’

To further underline how special Jordan was, Coulthard continued his story by providing some additional information about the history of the former team boss."They couldn't do it [to] Eddie, because there was always that understanding that he'd been there and done it in tougher times than they had."

The Scot concluded with a few extreme examples that shaped Jordan as a person. "It's not to take away from the incredible success of Toto, Christian and these guys, because they're inspirational leaders, but they hadn't literally remortgaged the home, send the bailiffs around the back door and all of that to get to where they got to. Eddie was an incredible, incredible individual," he concluded.
