There were many rumors in the Italian press about an early departure of Fred Vasseur as team boss of Ferrari, but in the end, the Frenchman 'simply' re-signed. According to the team boss, he will also deliver the much-desired successes under his leadership.

No team on the Formula 1 grid is as impatient as Ferrari. If things are not going well, the leaders' positions are undermined, because at Ferrari you need to win - always. The Scuderia just struggles with this, they haven't even managed to secure a single victory this season (apart from a sprint race).

'Ferrari is making a comeback to the top'

However, Vasseur is convinced that the pride of Italy will consistently secure victories. In a conversation with F1.com, the Frenchman adds a caveat: "I'm really convinced that it's taking time."

He then makes a comparison with Red Bull racing among others: "It's taking time at Ferrari, but everywhere in general if you have a look at the good story of F1 that when Christian [Horner] joined Red Bull or when Jean [Todt] joined Ferrari, before all these good success stories [it] took time before the first win."

Fred Vasseur wants to win again with Ferrari

Vasseur is convinced that a team boss needs time to fully shape a team and be successful.

"You need a couple of years to build up a team, to recruit people that you want to have with you, and then it takes also time to work together.”

Vasseur is certain that Ferrari will regain its position as the number one team. He believes that everyone in the company is aligned and sees opportunities.

“This is probably the best feeling when you have a goal and that everybody is convinced that we can achieve it, we can go for it and that we are all pushing in the same direction."
