Ferrari are slowly making incremental steps forward after a stuttering start to the 2025 season, and team boss Frederic Vasseur has signed a new contract.
The Scuderia sits second in the Constructors' Championship but are yet to score a race victory this season, despite Charles Leclerc achieving five podium finishes.
Ferrari had issues with the suspension and ride height of the SF-25 earlier in the year. An update to the rear suspension arrived last time out at the Belgian Grand Prix, which may have helped.
The Italian team have a formidable driver lineup with Leclerc and seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton joining the team this season, but they haven't been able to challenge for race wins. Despite lagging behind pacesetters McLaren, Hamilton is pleased to see Vasseur re-sign.
Sky Sports F1 commentator David Croft explained on their X channel that Ferrari haven't publicly said Ferrari needs to win a championship over the next few years.
He said: "Publicly, it's a continuation of the foundations that Fred Vasseur has put in place over the last 30 months since he came to the team in 2023.
"Privately, I'm sure they're going to be asking Fred Vasseur what are his plans to ensure that race victories come back a little more regularly and maybe championships in the future.
"And what are your plans across a chassis department and also an engine department as well? They've got arguably, you know, one of, if not the best lineup on the grid. Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc."
Ferrari haven't won a world championship since the constructors' title in 2008, while Kimi Raikkonen won the Driver's Championship one year earlier.
They have had multiple world champions drive for the team since then, such as Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel, but neither could win a title for Ferrari.
There has been signs of improvement under Vasseur's leadership, such as more effective strategy calls which Ferrari used to struggle with at times.
The Scuderia also got unexpectedly close to the Constructors' Championship last year and finished just 14 points behind McLaren. They went into the final round in Abu Dhabi with the opportunity to take the title but couldn't get over the line.
Croft feels Ferrari aren't putting Vasseur under incredible pressure to win a title: "Are they giving Lewis and Charles a car that both of their talents deserve?
"Probably not at this moment in time. Lewis is publicly saying he's getting stuck in to try and help that.
"I'm sure Charles is very much doing the same. But I don't think Ferrari are putting pressure on Fred Vasseur to say, you must do this. But behind the scenes, it'd be like, Fred, what are your plans to do it?"
