Max Verstappen made it very clear in four words how his experience after the sprint qualifying in Brazil was. Speaking to Giedo van der Garde, he said it was ‘just crap.’

It was a disappointing qualifying session for Verstappen at Interlagos, as he got no further than sixth place. “It was just crap,” Verstappen replied when Giedo van der Garde asked how the sprint qualifying went for the reigning world champion.
“It didn’t work at all. Lots of vibrations in the car, it was bouncing all over the place and on top of that, there was no grip in the slow corners either. It won’t rotate, I have no traction, so yeah, that’s where it ends,” the Red Bull driver continued.
The first and only free practice session at the Brazilian circuit didn’t go well either. Van der Garde asked Verstappen if he had noticed the issues with his car during FP1. “On those hard tyres, you notice it a bit less, but on the set of soft tyres, it was immediately not good. It was like that for the whole qualifying.”

There is a strong chance of rain and a wet track on Saturday. Van der Garde also asked if he hoped for precipitation, but the Dutchman shifted the conversation back to his car. “I had just hoped to have a better car, but in the rain, with how everything feels now, it won’t be pleasant.”
