Max Verstappen does not 'yet' have his own corner at Circuit Zandvoort. If the honor is offered to him, the Red Bull Racing driver would gladly accept under one condition: he gets to choose which corner will be 'his'.

Verstappen chooses 'own' corner in Zandvoort

In a joint conversation with his father Jos Verstappen, Max was asked whether he would be interested in a bend being named after him at Circuit Zandvoort.

“Yes, if I can choose which corner”, replied the Dutchman.

Which corner would it be in that case? “Scheivlak”, he says without any doubt. "You can't be scared there, you can't hold back."

The Scheivlak is one of the most iconic corners of Circuit Zandvoort. The incredibly fast right-hand turn is at the top of a dune and has been seen as the ultimate test since 1948: here, according to many, it becomes clear who the real heroes are.

In 2020, the corner received a safety update with a redesigned gravel trap, additional FIA fences, and tire stacks, but the shape of the corner remained unchanged.
