Max Verstappen, alongside Lando Norris, shared their candid assessment of the Formula 1 races held in Las Vegas.

“I’m personally less of a showman; I’m not really into that, probably.”

The pair, who had finished in first and second place before Norris’ disqualification from the race, offered relatively similar assessments of the races held under the night skies of Vegas.

The Red Bull driver, who won the race, admitted he’s not a fan of the showbiz side of F1, though he enjoys racing on the streets in Vegas.

“You have to, at the end of the day, also make up your own mind, right? Some people like more shows added, some people like different kinds of tracks,” he said during his post-race press conference.

“As a fan, I also have my opinions about what I like. Some weekends I like more than others. I still like being in Vegas, but I’m personally less of a showman; I’m not really into that, probably. But I get it, it’s part of the calendar. If you’re in Vegas, it needs to be like this. I get it, and that’s fine,” the Red Bull Racing driver concluded.

Norris echoes Verstappen’s sentiment

McLaren’s Norris also felt the spectacle can be over the top, comparing it to Canadian entertainment company Cirque du Soleil.

“It’s certainly better than it was a few years ago. It was a bit too much for everyone; it might as well have been in Cirque du Soleil with what we were doing back then,” he said.

The British driver also suggested the race would feel much nicer if it were held under warmer conditions.

“We’re all much happier with what we’re doing now. But it’s a nice event. It would be better if it were a little bit warmer or something. We would all appreciate it if it were a bit more, whether it’s a few months earlier or later, whatever it’s going to be. But if it were a bit warmer, I think everyone would enjoy the weekend a bit more.

“Even the fans, it’s not pleasant for them sitting out there in the cold the whole day and in the rain. So if it could move around, I’m sure some things would please everyone," he concluded.
