Max Verstappen finished fourth at the Belgian Grand Prix. While the Dutchman secured victory in the Sprint race, Sunday’s main event proved challenging. He received backing from Tom Coronel regarding the FIA’s delayed race start.

Coronel shared his thoughts on Vrooooom, criticizing the long wait caused by the heavy rain. Verstappen himself also expressed disappointment with the decision after the race.

’'You see that he disagrees with the decision, they just had to race in the rain'', Coronel said.

''I keep saying it. We've got rain tires, there should just be ripping and tearing. If you can't see anything, you should just hit the gas with that boxcar.’’

Is it down to the Pirelli tyres?

According to Coronel, it was also due to Pirelli, as he was brutally honest about the tyre supplier: ‘’Those are Pirelli tyres, they just don't work, that's the problem.’’

Presenter Rob Kamphues wondered why they weren't driving with full-wets, Coronel explained: ‘’Those tyres offer so little grip, they are just too hard, so they also offer too little grip in the rain.''

''But it's the same for everyone, so what difference does it make? At least you're not aquaplaning off the road. You can't drive in that rain with those intermediates. You can with those rain tyres, though, it's just slippery, that's it.’’
