Arvid Lindblad will replace Max Verstappen during FP1 of the Mexico City Grand Prix.

Talking to a select group of publications on Friday, including GPblog, Helmut Marko already confirmed that the British talent will be in action in FP1 next Friday.

The Austrian top advisor answered briefly, without explaining whether Lindblad will be in action for Red Bull Racing or Racing Bulls.

GPblog understands that the youngster will in action replacing four-time world champion Verstappen.

This will be Lindblad's second time driving the RB21 at a Formula 1 weekend. He previously replaced Yuki Tsunoda during FP1 of the British Grand Prix.

This will be the second time that Verstappen isn't driving in an FP1 session, with Ayumu Iwasa being in action during the Bahrain GP. It is mandatory for every driver to sit out two sessions throughout the season, which will be then completed by the Dutchman.

Previously, the Austrian top advisor already hinted at Lindblad having a strong chance of getting promoted to F1 next season with Racing Bulls.

Lindblad is currently seventh in the Formula 2 standings with two weekend to go. So far, he has won a Sprint and Feature Race each in the feeder series.
