Max Verstappen currently has no plans to bring his little daughter Lily to a Formula 1 race. The four-time world champion reportedly is in no rush to show her the F1 paddock.
Verstappen became a father for the first time earlier this year, when his girlfriend Kelly Piquet gave birth to their daughter Lily. Fatherhood was not entirely new for Verstappen, who has been a kind of stepfather for Penelope, the daughter of Piquet and former Red Bull driver Daniil Kvyat, for many years now.
Penelope has been seen in the Formula 1 paddock multiple times over the past years, resulting in many endearing images. However, there are no plans for Lily in the Formula 1 paddock for the time being, as Verstappen revealed at the Hungaroring.
On the media day in Hungary, Verstappen was asked whether he had any plans to bring his little daughter to an F1 race. "My daughter? I don't know," Verstappen said to the media, which included GPblog.
He continued, "I'm not really in a rush about that. I just want her to also have a bit of peace. It's not necessarily that I want her to be around here."
It is also noteworthy that the Verstappen-Piquet family has yet to share photos of Lily.
Even during the Monaco Grand Prix, the family's home race, daughter Lily was absent from the circuit. The then-new father was able to spend time with his little one during the race weekend.
It's clear that Verstappen prioritises his family. Earlier in the season, the four-time world champion skipped the official premiere of the Formula 1 film in New York, preferring to spend time with his family.
