Former F1 driver and now endurance racer for Ferrari, Antonio Giovinazzi, has had a hefty impact after crashing at Spa-Francorchamps.
During practice for the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps in the World Endurance Championship (WEC), the Italian driver suffered a heavy crash at the famous Eau Rouge and Radillon corners.
Many drivers had preceded him in the challenging corner combination, but Giovinazzi was next to lose control of the steering wheel and crash his Ferrari above Eau Rouge and Raidillon. Fortunately, he was able to get out without injuries, but the car was left damaged and smoking after its impact with the barriers.
The 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps will take place on May 10, but with the Italian's crash, strategies will have to be revised for Ferrari, with Giovinazzi and his #51 Ferrari team looking to make it back-to-back wins after winning in Imola last time out.
