Without Max Verstappen, there would have been no return of the Grand Prix of the Netherlands in recent years - that can be stated for sure. The last edition is in 2026, but Verstappen could possibly be immortalized on the circuit - in one of the most brutal bends!

Several bends of the circuit in the dunes have already been named in honor of a driver or VIP, for example the Hugenholtz bend (designer and former director for Circuit Zandvoort) and the Arie Luyendyk bend (driver and Indy 500-winner, no explanation needed).

But will there be a Max Verstappen corner? At Viaplay Circuit Director Robert van Overdijk discusses it.

"There is no doubt about it that he deserves it. That's a fact. How, what and in which manner we will do it, we need to think about."

Van Overdijk already has a Turn in mind. "The Scheivlak is for brave drivers, and we can't deny him that," says the director of the circuit and the Dutch GP.

The Scheivlak is also known as the Turn at Zandvoort, where drivers turn blindly at an incredible speed.

Thanks for the Verstappen family

Van Overdijk also thanks the Verstappen family for the past years. After the 2025 Dutch Grand Prix, today, and the edition of next year, the adventure for Zandvoort will be over.

"We are incredibly grateful to Max and the Verstappen family for their achievements. Without Max we wouldn't be here," says Van Overdijk.
