Williams team principal James Vowles commented on the launch of the new FW48 unveiled on Tuesday.

"Nobody quite knows what will happen at the first race but we are looking forward to finding out"

The Grove outfit was one of three teams, along with Cadillac and McLaren, yet to unveil its definitive livery for the 2026 season, but it was also the only one of the eleven outfits that did not take to the track during the Barcelona pre-season test.

The project ran into delays during the final stages, prompting the team to skip the shakedown week in order to arrive better prepared for the Bahrain test, with the aim of making up for lost time.

"2026 is the next step on the path back towards the top for Atlassian Williams F1 Team as we enter a new era for the sport, and we are excited about the season ahead," Vowles commented.

"We have a great driver line up, some fantastic new partners, an ever-growing fanbase and want to build on the success we tasted last year, but we are not naïve about the challenge ahead of us.

"Nobody quite knows what will happen at the first race but we are looking forward to finding out, and hope our fans will love cheering us on with this great new livery."

Williams have gone in a slightly different direction with their 2026 livery compared to last season, after previously revealing a special one-off design that was set to feature at the Barcelona tests — a plan that was ultimately shelved.

The familiar white-and-blue palette is now offset by a flowing black section that cuts through the car, outlined by a red-and-white keyline.

It’s a clear nod to Williams’ championship-winning heritage, recalling iconic machines such as Mansell’s FW14B and Hill’s FW18, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.
