According to images that have gone viral on social media, Yuki Tsunoda became lost after arriving at the airport in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
When traveling F1 teams assign staff to make sure drivers are met at the gate at the airport for logistic purposes. However, when Tsunoda arrived in Brazil, the Red Bull member that was supposed to meet the Japanese driver was not there.
Images began flooding social media channels showing a confused Tsunoda in search for his team's representative at the Aeroporto Internacional de Sao Paulo-Guarulhos.
In the end Max Verstappen's teammate gave up his search and simply sat down in the lobby to wait for Red Bull to locate him, as can be understood from all the social media posts, with one caption stating: "Yuki Tsunoda arrived on Tuesday morning, and the Red Bull driver was completely lost as no one was expecting him; he remained in the lobby for some time."
An alleged error in a traveling app was the supposed culprit of the missunderstanding. Tsunoda was expected to arrive at Terminal 3, but instead came through the airport's terminal 2.
In the Brazil Grand Prix preview, Tsunoda acknowledged the chaos the classic Sao Paulo rain could bring, which along with the Sprint format of the event, might also yield big rewards, concluding that his focus will be on helping Red Bull pip rivals Mercedes and Ferrari in their fight for P2 in the Constructors and supporting Verstappen's title charge.
