For the first time, Max Verstappen is attending the Dutch Grand Prix as a father. When he stood on the fan-stage at Circuit Zandvoort with Yuki Tsunoda, he was asked how his daughter was doing.

Verstappen became a father at the end of April. Together with Kelly Piquet, they welcomed their first child together: Lily. This summer, the couple's daughter accompanied them on vacation. First in Portugal and then in Sardinia.

At the end of the summer break, Verstappen shared a photo on his Instagram with his Lily. When he was asked about his vacation on the fan-stage in Zandvoort, the photo was shown to the audience. The fans in attendance responded massively with 'Awwww'.

Verstappen himself responded to the question: "It was nice just to spend a bit of time with the family." Then Verstappen was asked how Lily is doing. The home driver responded: "She's good. Step by step, she's growing. I guess that's the most important thing."

The Formula 1 race weekend kicked off in Zandvoort on Friday afternoon. McLaren made a dominant impression during the first free practice session. Verstappen finished sixth, almost a second behind number 1 Lando Norris. The Dutchman also made a mistake after the session, getting stuck in the gravel at Tarzan Corner.
