Windsor in Formula 1

Windsor began his career in motorsport journalism in the late 1970s. His work as an editor earned him a lot of respect. In 1985, the Williams Formula 1 team approached him, and he accepted the offer from team boss Frank Williams. The former journalist took on the role of Sponsorship Manager at the legendary British team. In 1986, Windsor was involved in the car accident that left Frank Williams paralyzed—Windsor himself escaped with only minor injuries.
After several years at Williams, Windsor moved to the UK base of Ferrari. At the Italian team, he worked as General Manager. However, this adventure was short-lived, as Windsor returned to Williams in 1991. There, he became team manager and won the World Championship with Nigel Mansell.

Peter Windsor as a Journalist

Windsor left Williams at the end of 1992 after Mansell departed for IndyCar as the reigning Formula 1 World Champion. Windsor spent some time working in the United States before returning to Formula 1 in 1998 as a commentator and journalist. The Australian often hosted the post-session press conferences in F1.
