On the Canadian Grand Prix weekend, talking to
Sky Sports,
Horner explained:
"There are so many rumours. I'm not going anywhere. I'm fully committed to Red Bull. We have got so much good stuff coming through the pipeline. We are on the verge of launching our own engine for 2026, which has been a massive project and undertaking."In an exclusive article before, GPblog has learned that Horner no longer has the
unconditional support of the Thai co-owner of Red Bull GmbH, and is flirting with Alpine and Flavio Briatore.
According to the German journalist, Brundle reportedly mentioned a conversation between the team principal of the Austrian outfit and
Ferrari CEO John Elkann. Whether this was a recent discussion is unclear. However, it is known that Horner has spoken with the Ferrari chief in the past. At that time, Horner turned down the role, and Frederic Vasseur got the job instead.
Meanwhile, ahead of the current weekend, Italian media shared rumours about Ferrari looking to replace team principal Frederic Vasseur.
At the team principals' press conference, the Frenchman answered questions about the matter,
explaining that Italian media are only 'hurting' the Scuderia.
