The FIA have officially announced that Max Verstappen will start from the pit lane for the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.

After the Dutchman could only finish P16 in a disappointing qualifying session, changes were made to his RB21 under Parc Ferme conditions.

As well as some set-up changes, a brand new power unit has also been given to the four-time world champion, resulting in an expected pit lane start, which has now been made official.

Ocon also offically starts from the pit lane

It won't just be Verstappen who will start in the Interlagos pit lane for Sunday's Grand Prix, with Esteban Ocon joining the Dutchman after a power unit change was also made.

The Frenchman qualified in P17 on Saturday, meaning he will queue up behind Verstappen when the lights go out in Sao Paulo.

Lando Norris will start on pole position ahead of Kimi Antonelli, Charles Leclerc and Oscar Piastri, with the Brit looking to increase his championship lead after winning Saturday's sprint race.
