Kelly Piquet, girlfriend of four-time Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen, paid tribute to her father, Nelson Piquet, on Instagram for Brazil father's day. Her brother, Nelson Piquet Jr., did the same—and also looked ahead to becoming a father himself.
Kelly posted two photos of her dad on Instagram. The first showed a young Kelly with Nelson Piquet, while the second featured the three-time F1 world champion with his granddaughters, Penelope and Lily.

His son also paid tribute to the former Formula 1 champion on Instagram: "I just wanted to tell you that I love you a lot. Thanks for everything you do for us. You've always been a great dad. We're all very proud of you.''
''Whether it's about the results or what you have accomplished. I know your birthday is coming up and we'll be together. A kiss from me, I love you."
Later, Piquet Jr. reflected on what his father has meant to him, saying that Piquet Sr. devoted a great deal of time to supporting his Formula 1 career. Nelson Jr. even admitted that he likely wouldn’t have raced at all without his father’s guidance.

Piquet Jr. is about to become a father. For this reason, he also stated: "It's my first Father's Day too. Of course, my daughter is still in Jessica. But I have the responsibility to take care of her. It's an important time. I'm worried about what she [my daughter] does. I can't count on her, she can't do it alone."
