Formula 1 heads to the Mexico City Grand Prix this weekend, and the track is one of the more unique circuits on the calendar due to the altitude.

The circuit is located approximately 7,300 to 7,350 feet above sea level which creates prolems for the cooling in particular.

This is because there is less air density at the circuit, which means teams need to open the cooling ducts and the brakes more than they normally would.

The altitude also forces Formula 1's 10 teams to run very high downforce, similar to that of Monaco or the Hungaroring.

Max Verstappen is heading into the race weekend in Mexico on great form, having won three of the last four Grands Prix.

The Dutchman is also incredibly quick at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez and has won in Mexico a record five times.

McLaren are also likely to be in contention this weekend and have also wrapped up their second consecutive Constructors' Championship at the Singapore Grand Prix.

The highly anticipated FP3 session will begin at 19:30 CET on Saturday and is the final running before the all-important qualifying.

The Mexico City Grand Prix began with two practice sessions on Friday, with FP1 and FP2 as the drivers acclimatised to the track.

Unlike the United States Grand Prix last weekend, there will be no Sprint so qualifying there are the traditional three practice sessions, qualifying and Grand Prix on Sunday.
