As one championship contender smiles, the other is left disappointed. That happened to
Lando Norris, who finished in P6 in Brazil, while
Max Verstappen won the Sao Paulo Grand Prix. Following the race, Norris did share a post on Instagram congratulating his rival.
Max Verstappen managed to win for the first time since the Spanish GP at Interlagos. Following the Grand Prix, a disheartened
Lando Norris said in multiple interviews that the Red Bull driver 'got lucky'.
On his Instagram, Norris then wrote: "Tough day out there. Not what we were hoping for and luck not on our side but we'll keep fighting till the end. Not gonna give up until it's over. Congrats Max Verstappen for the impressive win. As you say "simply lovely"."
The gap between the two drivers in the championship now stands at 62 points. Mathematically, Verstappen could already secure his fourth title in three weeks, when the Formula One season will continue in Las Vegas.

Not sure if Lando skills have reacted at all in this mood.
Forced PR statement. Post race interview showed his true nature.
Bit too little and quite a bit too late Lando...
Terrible sportsmanship in his post-race interviews! Max went from P17 to P1...which is a recovery that only happened 5 times in the 1000++ races in F1 history... while overtaking 13 cars himself on track... and Lando tried to brush it aside as luck!??
Very interesting...
Eh give him a break... Things didn't go well for him and he had the weight of the world on his shoulders... When things don't go right for Max he can just complain a bit and go "oh well, still 50 points ahead in the championship" haha. Lando will learn a lot from this season which has practically been his first with a car to contend for anything serious. Lots of mistakes from him and his team but that's ok.
Well said, but deep down, I think he has thrown in the towel.
He will need to at least win a race and come in P2 twice plus get the 2 extra points for the fastest lap in 2 of the races to get enough points to win the championship even if Max decided to take an early holiday and does not take part in any of the remaining 3 races!
Well, obviously. As far as the WCD goes, who wouldn't? Now it's just racing for what's left :)
Lando showing his soft side. But a better side than his rival would ever show.
He's still looking around for people to blame, like his fans have been.
Lol nice.
The master class rain whisperer really messed up your weekend.
He sure did...Lol..
Wishful thinking I'm afraid. Got any more adjectives? :)
I've had a restful and quiet weekend and now I'm busy video editing for a friend of mine. All good here. Just as long as the provokers are being provoked back, the rest is white noise.
Agree. That's why you get so provoke easily.
Easily? Haha. Responding to trolls is what I do. It's part of the job description so to speak. Making me reply is one thing. Making me emotional over it... well good luck :)
Good job Lando!
6th is good
Haha, you know I meant good job in congratulating Max, not on his race.
Fair play.
I would say the luck more or less leveled itself out today. First in Q1 Norris gets a bit lucky not to be eliminated in the race of course a bit unlucky with red flag. Max the same - unlucky in Q2, lucky in race.
Although if race would not be stopped looking back now it would still be advantage Verstappen as Norris got inters and conditions surely worsened wets. So Verstappen would go in for wets and either Norris would need to come in second time for wets or try to survive with inters. Either way he would loose a lot of time and surely position to Verstappen. So all in all a bad call from Norris/Mclaren.
