Fernando Alonso has revealed his first impression of the Aston Martin AMR26 car designed by Adrian Newey.
“I see all the mechanics, the faces, everyone is looking at him.”- Fernando Alonso
The 44-year-old, who took the AMR26 out on track for the first time in Barcelona, spoke about the energy and motivation Newey has instilled in the garage.
Alonso highlighted the team’s focus on precision and the pursuit of constant improvement, traits that Newey has clearly imbued in the squad.
“I think everyone is super motivated when we see him in the garage taking care of all the details. I see all the mechanics, the faces, everyone is looking at him, trying to spot something that maybe he comments on about the car, or he wants to improve. That's been, as always, I think, he's always teaching us something,” Alonso said to F1.com.

The AMR26 has particularly grabbed the spotlight with its cutting-edge, on-the-limit approach, reflecting Newey’s signature design philosophy.
The Aston Martin outfit now shifts focus to completing more mileage, with the next round of testing slated for the Bahrain International Circuit.
Earlier, former F1 champion Damon Hill backed Aston Martin to disrupt the existing dominance on the F1 grid with their 2026 challenger.
The 1996 world champion pointed to the addition of Newey to the team as a factor that could have an immediate impact, which he believes will spur them to the top of the grid.
