The 2025 Formula 1 season is a third of the way through. One glaringly obvious fact is that Red Bull Racing has fallen back. As it stands, they are right above Williams in the Constructors' championship. In 2024, Red Bull earned 301 points after the first nine races of the F1 season. This put them far ahead of their competition,
Ferrari (252 points) and
McLaren (212 points). However, Red Bull Racing was not able to hold on to that lead. Instead, McLaren ended up taking home the constructors' title.
Now, after nine races, Red Bull's decline and McLaren's dominance are blatantly obvious. Red Bull is in fourth place with 144 points, less than half of what they had at this time last year.
This does not mean Verstappen has lost his form, as he has supplied 137 of those 144 points. Instead, it points to the bigger issue with his team.
Ferrari is stable, Williams surprises
While Ferrari is down almost 100 points from last year, it is still holding on to second place. After the
Spanish Grand Prix, it jumped from fourth to second, overtaking both Mercedes and Red Bull.
Remarkably, Racing Bulls are in sixth place, just like last year. However, the real surprise is Williams Racing's rise to fifth place.
