Peter Windsor was full of praise for Max Verstappen after his victory at the United States Grand Prix.

“Max Verstappen was the driver of everything.”
- Peter Windsor

The 73-year-old, in his post-race analysis, commended Charles Leclerc and the Scuderia Ferrari team for their outing at the Circuit of the Americas before stating that Verstappen was the most dominant driver throughout the race weekend in Austin.

“Charles Leclerc, I get that he was the Driver of the Day, and I think Ferrari, in many ways, were the Team of the Day for going with that tyre choice for Charles."

"But equally, it’s very difficult to come away from the weekend and not say that Max Verstappen was the driver of everything. He took the sprint pole, he won the sprint, he took the qualifying pole, and he won the Grand Prix. He didn’t get the fastest lap – that was Kimi Antonelli, on that new set of tyres, right early in the race.”

Verstappen completed what can be dubbed a perfect weekend for a Formula 1 driver at the United States Grand Prix. The Red Bull Racing driver clinched pole in both the Sprint and the Grand Prix sessions and successfully converted both pole positions into victories in their respective races.

Toto Wolff lauds Verstappen

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff was also full of praise for Verstappen. Speaking to GPblog in the aftermath of the race in Austin, the 53-year-old stressed how great the Red Bull Racing driver was.

Wolff further added that it would be difficult to see another driver mount a late title charge in the manner that Verstappen currently is this season.

Verstappen currently trails championship leader Oscar Piastri by 40 points, with five races and two sprints remaining on the calendar. At the Dutch Grand Prix, the 28-year-old was a staggering 104 points behind the McLaren driver.
