F1 Drivers' Standings | Piastri closes the gap with Sprint win in Qatar

Oscar Piastri has won the Sprint of the Qatar Grand Prix and closed the gap in the Drivers’ Standings.

Piastri took a step towards Lando Norris in the championship standings, as the gap is now down to 22 points.

The Australian driver gained two points on his rival in the final Sprint of the year at the Lusail International Circuit.

George Russell also took a valuable seven points for Mercedes after finishing in second for the German team as Norris took third.

Ferrari failed to score in today's 19-lap race as both Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton were outside the top eight.
