Lewis Hamilton won't fuel any unnecessary rumours around Ferrari team boss Frederic Vasseur, while Lando Norris explains McLaren held him accountable for making contact with Oscar Piastri in Singapore.

Hamilton isn't about to 'entertain rumours' about Horner's Ferrari arrival

Hamilton's first campaign as a Ferrari driver has been less than ideal, with one of the few highlights being the Sprint win in China.

There has been rumours surrounding team principal Frederic Vasseur's future, which Hamilton feels is an unnecessary distraction for the Scuderia.

He said in Austin: "I’m not going to entertain rumours. I don’t know where the rumours have come from, so I can’t really shed much light on that. But it’s a little bit distracting for us as a team.”

“The team have made it clear where they stand in terms of re-signing Fred. Fred, I, and the whole team are working really hard on the future of the team, so these things naturally aren’t helpful.”

When asked whether the rumours about Christian Horner joining the Scuderia are true and whether he thinks it’s a good idea, he answered: "I don’t, and I’m not going to entertain rumours."

Norris: McLaren 'held me accountable' for Singapore incident

Norris revealed that McLaren felt he was at fault for the incident between him and teammate Piastri in Singapore.

The British driver made contact with his teammate on the opening lap while trying to avoid the Red Bull of Max Verstappen.

He told GPblog ahead of the United States Grand Prix: "There were talks [after the race in Singapore]. That was inevitable.

"The team held me accountable for what happened, which I think is fair.

"Then we made progress from there on understanding what the repercussions were for myself to definitely avoid anything worse happening than what did.

"Like I said, back after Singapore, the last thing I wanted was something like that to happen, to cause these controversial talks after a race. And at the same time, I put just as much risk on me putting myself out of the race as I do whoever I'm racing against, whether it's Oscar or anyone else."
