After a mixed result for Ferrari in FP2 with Hamilton facing major break issues and Leclerc struggling with his car, Ferrari are in trouble with the stewards for breaching sport regulations.
It has been noted and hence the team have been penalised 5000 euros after Ferrari failed to follow proper procedures when adjusting tyre pressures on Leclerc's car.
The document that has been issued by the FIA noted that Leclerc's tyre pressure appeared to have been altered after a run.
Tyre pressure regulations
According to the directive, if a tyre is used more than once during a session and any adjustments are to be made - such as reducing tyre pressure - teams must first measure the tyre temperatures. In this case, the Ferrari team admitted to skipping this essential step, leading to a violation of Article 30.5(a) of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations.
Hence, the team has been fined €5,000 (£4,200) by the FIA stewards following a procedural breach.
While minor, it adds to the team's
ongoing struggles during their home race at Imola.
