Hadjar can't enjoy podium in Zandvoort for long: Frenchman breaks trophy

Isack Hadjar achieved his first podium by securing the third place at Circuit Zandvoort during the Dutch GP on Sunday afternoon. The young Frenchman couldn't enjoy his exceptional performance for long, as his prize literally slipped through his fingers.

He qualified in P4 and drove around in that spot for much of the duration of the race. To his own surprise, he managed to keep the Mercedes and Ferrari drivers behind him. At certain times, it seemed like he could even attack Max Verstappen, which would have landed him a podium spot at the time.

As Lando Norris dropped out in the final rounds of the race at Zandvoort, Hadjar's fourth place was eventually converted into a podium. For him, this represented a first in his still burgeoning F1 career. After it all, he couldn’t find words to describe this feeling.

Norris has experienced this before: a broken trophy. The young Frenchman now follows in the footsteps of the Brit, having been left with a broken trophy after the weekend at Zandvoort. You can watch the footage below.
