Jean Alesi did not hold back in his criticism of Lewis Hamilton, targeting his attitude over the Hungarian GP weekend and drawing a parallel with Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna.

Formula 1 has already entered its summer break, but one of the hottest topics at the moment remains the difficult period Lewis Hamilton is going through.

Even in Hungary, the seven-time world champion failed to achieve a positive result, despite the fact that the Hungaroring has seen him triumph no fewer than eight times in his career.

The Briton, after being eliminated in Q2 while his teammate secured Ferrari’s first pole of the season, failed to climb back into the points and finished the race in the same position he started — twelfth.

Alesi critical of Hamilton's attitude

Jean Alesi, Ferrari’s legendary driver from the ’90s, didn’t hold back his criticism of the Stevenage native, drawing a comparison with two other legends, Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna.

''I think Hamilton’s attitude demoralizes the people working around him. Senna or Schumacher would have never said anything like that,'' the Frenchman told Corriere della Sera about the matter.

Former F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone also spoke about Hamilton’s difficult start to his first season with Ferrari in recent times, urging the seven-time world champion to retire at the end of the season.
