Max Verstappen is currently third in the World Drivers' Championship. However, despite being behind the two McLaren drivers, Peter Windsor would still bet on him winning this year's title.
During a stream on his YouTube channel, Windsor was asked who he would bet on if he had an extra 3,000 euros.
He said, "Obviously, if it's a bet, you're taking into account the odds, aren't you? I'm assuming the odds on Pastri or Lando are incredibly poor now, and if either of them won and you put your 3,000 down, you'd get one euro back or 3,001 euros back, so I'd have to go for Max."

Verstappen is not dismissed as a contender in the F1 championship of 2025

Windsor continued explaining, "He's in the best points position apart from the McLarens and he could still pull a few wins out, we just don't know how it's going to go."
Verstappen was able to win the 2024 Canadian Grand Prix, despite not being the favoured driver. If he can repeat the win this year, he will beat Michael Schumacher's record for most consecutive wins at the Canadian Grand Prix. The two drivers are currently tied with three.

"In terms of Red Bull's performance, this is a good example, Canada, they'll be pretty close to McLaren, so Max has a reasonable chance of winning Canada, particularly if the weather gets dodgy."
Windsor believes that some tracks will benefit Red Bull more than McLaren.
Windsor said, "There's a good reason in Hungary McLaren will disappear, but Silverstone, Max could be up there as well. I'd still put it on Max."
