Peter Windsor is impressed by Isack Hadjar's performance in his debut season. The former team manager is so excited about the young Frenchman, after the Monaco Grand Prix, he made a notable comparison between Hadjar and Max Verstappen.
During the race weekend in Monaco, Hadjar delivered standout results for the Racing Bulls team. The rookie managed to qualify sixth on the challenging street circuit, starting fifth on the grid after Hamilton's penalty and crossed the finish line in an impressive sixth place. 20-year-old Hadjar not only finished above teammate Liam Lawson, but also ahead of Verstappen's new teammate Yuki Tsunoda. Windsor is therefore very impressed with the Racing Bulls driver.
"He's brilliant. He's excellent!", says Windsor in the Cameron CC Podcast. "On Saturday in a video, I actually made a comparison between the two, Lawson and Hadjar, as they went into the chicane at the swimming pool and both ran fast laps. With Lawson, you see the rear breaking out a bit, lots of sparks, but perfect control over the car".
According to the F1 analyst, on the other hand, Hadjar drove his qualification in true 'Verstappen style'. "Seeing Hadjar in that car, it could have been Max driving the car. Almost straight [through the chicane], the same amount of sparks, but just beautiful, really beautifully positioned. He's really good!"

Windsor predicts: 'Hadjar to be Verstappen's teammate this year'

While Hadjar impresses Windsor, the former team manager sees Tsunoda succumbing to pressure next to Verstappen. "Yuki Tsunoda seems not to be able to handle it in the other Red Bull," he says. "This is THE big opportunity of his career. And it's at Red Bull, not Racing Bulls. There's so much at stake for him, and it's all a bit too much."
What are the chances he replaces Yuki before the end of the year according to Windsor? "They are now probably quite high. I think they at Red Bull are looking at him and thinking: yes, we need to have Hadjar in the A-team".
