Toto Wolff hopes to quickly leave behind the terrible weekend in Monaco for the Mercedes team. The Mercedes team principal is aiming for a good result again during next weekend's Spanish Grand Prix. Mercedes had a
disappointing weekend at the
Monaco Grand Prix 2025. George Russell initially finished ninth, but received a penalty for cutting the chicane while overtaking Alex Albon, dropping him to eleventh place and out of the points. Andrea Kimi Antonelli finished as the last of the running cars. Wolff hopes the team can set things right again next weekend in Spain.
"We want to get back on track this weekend in Barcelona," Wolff said in the Mercedes press release "It's a circuit that poses a good test for the car, with a mix of slow, medium, and high speed corners. It will be useful to assess our recent updates and our position relative to the competition as we enter the second third of the season."

A Long Road Ahead for Mercedes
The Austrian team representative emphasizes that there's still a lot of work to be done for the German manufacturer. "With 16 races still to go, there's a long road ahead. The team continues to work hard to find performance, and the technical directive for the updated front wing this weekend adds an extra layer of interest. However, we remain focused on ourselves and look forward to performing better than in the last two races."
Mercedes is still currently second in the constructors' championship, but sees its lead over Red Bull Racing shrink to just four points. A good result in Barcelona will therefore be crucial to stay ahead of Max Verstappen's team.
