Liam Lawson was demoted back to Racing Bulls just after two rounds with Red Bull Racing. Entering the summer break, the New Zealander could find more confidence with finishing inside the points as well. Does he eye a return to Red Bull Racing soon already?

After two rounds, Liam Lawson was yet to score a point for Red Bull Racing. The Austrians made the decision at the time to replace the driver beginning his first full-time season with Yuki Tsunoda.

At the Japanese GP as a result, Lawson was once again sitting in a Racing Bulls car.

"It is [nice to finish on a high]. It's been a very tough year, so I think it's hard to string together a series of good results in F1 and recently it's been good for us, but obviously we have another whole second half to go and we need to learn from what's working right now and try and take that forward," he told GPblog among others after finishing in P8, which meant he was the driver from the Red Bull family with the best result at the Hungaroring.

Lawson to put his name in the hat again for Red Bull?

With adding four points to his name in Hungary, over the last four Grands Prix, the New Zealander finished inside the Top 10 three times.

In Hungary, Max Verstappen announced that he will stay with Red Bull, but the second seat remains open.

Is a return to Red Bull something Lawson has his eye on? "Honestly in terms of my future, it's been so busy this year that I'm not really thinking about it. I'm focused on having some good races. Obviously we've had some recently, but three of them aren't enough over 12 races. So we need to do more of this and we'll see," he concluded after the Grand Prix.
