The Formula 1 panel has released its power rankings for the United States GP with Max Verstappen receiving the highest mark.
The Red Bull Racing driver stormed to pole position in both the Sprint and Grand Prix and successfully converted both first-place starts into victories, leading every lap.
The display by the Dutch driver earned him a perfect 10 score on the power rankings following the race weekend. Scuderia Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc was rated the next best on the list, albeit at a distance of 8.6 points from Verstappen.
McLaren’s Lando Norris and Haas F1 Team driver Oliver Bearman shared third place for their respective points finishes at the race in Austin, with both rated 8.2.
Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso also finished high on the rankings with a 7.6 rating. However, it was Verstappen who led the pack, and it was little surprise he was awarded a perfect ten, especially considering several individuals – including Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff and Stake F1 driver Nico Hulkenberg – lauded the four-time world champion in the aftermath of the weekend.
While the McLaren team had Norris in joint third on the latest power rankings, teammate and championship leader Oscar Piastri missed out completely on the list.
The Australian largely endured a challenging race weekend, crashing on the opening lap of the Sprint and only managing fifth place during the Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas.
Piastri also saw his lead atop the drivers’ standings further cut by Verstappen, who has continued to gain on the 24-year-old since the Italian Grand Prix.
Verstappen’s recent upswing in form has also seen him surge to the top of the power rankings leaderboard. The Red Bull driver is currently ahead of Piastri, following his recent run of victories.
