Charles Leclerc's Ferrari has been selected for a post-race check five times this season. That is more than any other driver on the grid. The Hungarian Grand Prix post-race check came after George Russel's talk of his Ferrari being illegal.

Leclerc had a good chance to win at the Hungaroring until his second pitstop. After that, his race pace and performance fell off, leaving him down in fourth after starting first.

Russell made it onto the podium in third position at the Hungarian GP. When speaking to Sky Sports afterwards about Leclerc's race, he said, "He’s not going to tell you that they’re close to being illegal."

During the Dutch GP media day, Leclerc was asked about the Briton's comments. He said, "I’m not going to comment on that. I don’t really mind about what George said after the race."

Both Leclerc and his teammate, Lewis Hamilton, were disqualified at the Chinese Grand Prix due to technical issues.

He continued, "The situation is a lot more complex than what he portrayed, but I’m not really going to comment too much."

Leclerc was audibly angry over his board radio during the Hungarian Grand Prix, but after the race, things were smoothed over. Ferrari team principal, Frederic Vasseur, said that after they explained the issues, Leclerc understood the issue.

"As we’ve said after Budapest, we are not going to go into the details of exactly what happened. It’s something that we are trying to fix and that we are working towards. But the only thing I can say is that it’s a lot more complex than that."

The only part Leclerc was willing to comment on was on whether or not the issues would persist.

He said, "Yeah, they will still be around, but we are trying to fix them and deal with them in a different manner."
