Prior to the Dutch GP, a revision has been made to the race on the Circuit in Zandvoort. Max Verstappen is pleased with this change compared to previous years.

This upcoming weekend, the F1 drivers are allowed to drive eighty kilometres per hour instead of sixty kilometres per hour through the pit lane. During past editions, the Dutch GP was one of the few races on the calendar where low speeds prevailed.

This is set to change this year. Although the pit lane in Zandvoort is narrow, the FIA has decided that the maximum speed can still be increased. This results in the drivers gaining time in the pit lane, and a two-stop strategy may even be viable during the race.

Max Verstappen said in the Netherlands, to GPBlog and others, that he is happy with the adjustment made by the FIA. "I think the pit lane adjustment is nice. I believe we can save four or five seconds with that. So that's pretty nice."

"I am quite certain that if it remains normally dry, you might see a few more strategies. Because, of course, it's a circuit where it's pretty hard to overtake. So I only see it as a positive thing actually," concluded the Dutchman.

As of now, rain is forecasted for all days of the event in the Dutch seaside town. This could potentially disrupt the pre-planned strategies. According to Verstappen, if it remains dry, the adjustment in the pit lane could turn out to be quite interesting.
