Charles Leclerc states that Ferrari will "deal with whatever amount of hours" they receive regarding wind tunnel time as the Scuderia fight Mercedes and Red Bull in the constructors' championship.
While the battle for the first two places among the drivers seems to be between McLaren drivers Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris, the fight for second place among the constructors is an extremely close battle.
Currently, Ferrari sit second in the championship with 260 points, holding a 24-point lead over Mercedes, while Red Bull sit in P4 with 194 points.
The Monégasque recently also commented on the battle with Mercedes and Red Bull. He wanted to get closer to McLaren, but also saw the Woking-based team's dominance. He seemed to be considering a fight with Red Bull, which he called inconsistent. But the fight with Mercedes is also important; Leclerc saw that Mercedes was inconsistent.
Wind tunnel time will also be decided by the constructors' standings come the end of the 2025 season, with whichever team finishing in P2 receiving less wind tunnel time compared with teams finishing in P3 and P4.
At the Hungarian Grand Prix, Leclerc addressed the fight between the three teams for second place in the championship in front of GPblog and others.
"I'm pretty sure it's better to finish second than third. However, as you said, there's also the wind tunnel time. This is not something we think of too much. When we are on track, we just want to finish as high up as possible and then we'll deal with whatever amount of hours in the wind tunnel we have.
"We want to target the highest possible. Second place in the Constructors’ is one of our targets, but the biggest target is to come back to winning races as soon as possible. Wherever we finish, we'll work from there and see how many hours we have next year," Leclerc concluded.
