Alpine hit the track with a Mercedes engine for the first time at the Silverstone Circuit ahead of the 2026 Formula 1 season.

After Audi, Cadillac, and Racing Bulls went out on track for the first time in 2026, now Alpine is doing some laps at Silverstone.

GPblog has learned that Pierre Gasly is behind the wheel of the French team's car today at the British circuit.

The team's car livery launch is set to take place in two days' time in Barcelona, where the first pre-season test will take place from 26 to 30 January.

Entering the current season, the French outfit begins using Mercedes power units. The German manufacturer previously released a teaser of the sound of its 2026 power unit, but this was the first time the fans could hear the engine in action on a track.
