The Mercedes Formula 1 team has reacted to the news of Valtteri Bottas joining the Cadillac F1 outfit. The American team confirmed the signing of the 35-year-old as its driver for the 2026 season in a video shared on its social media.
Cadillac, which had earlier been announced, will enter the F1 grid for the 2026 season as the 11th team, have since been linked with several drivers within the motorsports space. However, ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix, the Fisher-based outfit announced both Bottas and Sergio Perez would drive for it for its debut campaign in the sport.
Following the announcement, which has since generated a buzz across the motorsport space, the Mercedes team, which Bottas currently represents as its third driver, took to the comments of the announcement to congratulate their driver.
“Congrats VB. Back on the F1 grid where you belong👏,” it wrote.
Valtteri Bottas also reacted to his move to the Cadillac outfit. The former Williams Racing driver took to his social media to share a post of himself surfing while holding an American flag. The Finn accompanied the post with a flag of the United States in the caption.
