Norris laughs at Mexican crowd's boos: 'Makes it entertaining!'

Lando Norris can only laugh when he gets booed; he explained that after the Mexico City Grand Prix.

The British driver was booed by the Mexican crowd after the race. After his initial verdict, Norris said the reaction only made him laugh and wouldn’t take away from his win.

He explained: "I like sour sweets. I don't know why [it happened], to be honest. People can do what they want, honestly.

"They have the right to do it if they want to do it. So I think that's the sport sometimes.

"I don't know why I can't stop laughing when I get booed. I think it makes it more entertaining for me.

"So yes, they can keep doing it if they want. Of course, you don't want it. I prefer to have people cheer for me.

"Like I said, I just concentrate on doing my things. It was the same in what Monza and a few other places. I don't know why. I just can't stop laughing. So if they want to continue, they can."

Norris doesn't believe he is handed the title

According to a Mexican journalist, their poll suggests Norris was booed because fans believe McLaren is handing him the title after the Monza team orders.

To that, the current championship leader responded: "If they want to think that, they certainly have the right to think whatever they want.

"I guess from us as a team, of course, we try and do things fairly. That was the comments we made back then. The same with a year ago in Budapest when I could have won the race and I had to let Oscar [Piastri] back through and let him win the race he deserved to win.

"It was no difference to that really. It was an incorrect decision that we made as a team to box him first.

"To be honest, if you want to have the three points, they can. But they have the right to think whatever they want. Like Oscar deserved the win last year in Budapest, I deserve to be ahead of Monza."

The Brit now leads the championship by a single point ahead of Piastri, while Max Verstappen sits third, 36 points behind the leader.
