Piastri just survives Q2 after eliminating Tsunoda in Mexico

Oscar Piastri was on the edge of getting eliminated in Q2 of the Mexico City Grand Prix.

Yuki Tsunoda once again failed to make it through to Q3 on a Saturday, after the Japanese driver finished 11th, and behind Isack Hadjar. Meanwhile, Max Verstappen was comfortably through in fourth place.

The Red Bull driver was eliminated by championship leader Piastri during the final moments of the session. The Australian had a difficult qualifying so far, but will compete in Q3.

Together with Tsunoda, Esteban Ocon, Nico Hulkenberg Fernando Alonso and Liam Lawson were knocked out at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez
