Red Bull has welcomed two new talents to its Junior Team: Swiss driver Chiara Bättig and Italian Mattia Colnaghi.
Fifteen-year-old Bättig is set to make the step up from karting to Formula 4 next season, representing Red Bull Racing as part of the Austrian team’s Junior Programme.
Colnaghi, in turn, will make the transition to Formula 3. Here, he will be racing for MP Motorsport. The Italian responded enthusiastically: “I’m super excited about the opportunity handed to me by MP Motorsport and the Red Bull Junior Team”, said Colnaghi. “Joining the Grand Prix weekends as a Formula 3 driver is a dream come true, and I’m looking to forward to building on the amazing working relationship that MP and I have developed in the past two seasons."
The leader in the Eurocup-3 championship also thanked the one who brought him to the Red Bull Junior Team: "I’m truly grateful to Helmut Marko and Red Bull for allowing me to demonstrate my racing skills in FIA F3, while staying with MP is the obvious choice. They have become my family in the past two years and have helped me grow as a driver. I believe that working with them in Formula 3 will be just as enjoyable and successful.”
