Laurent Mekies, the team principal of Red Bull Racing, has hailed the design team behind the RB22 as the team unveiled its 2026 challenger.
GPblog was in Detroit, where Mekies was speaking alongside Max Verstappen and Isack Hadjar as the team gave the world the first glimpse of its new F1 car.
Mekies, who replaced Christian Horner as team boss midway through last season, hopes the RB22 will return the team to the top of the standings amid a range of new regulations.
He said: “Seeing the new livery for the first time is one of those special moments, it starts to make you feel excited about the new season. We are going to look spectacular on track!"
"This is a new and significant era for the sport as a whole and for us as a team. We wanted our livery to reflect this, while also giving a nod to Red Bull Racing’s beginnings. This livery is designed to celebrate the spirit of our early days. In the year that an Oracle Red Bull Racing car will run a Red Bull Ford Powertrains PU for the first time, it felt only right to reflect some of our history in our livery."
