Red Bull's nightmare in Hungary continues with one elimination in Q1 that could've been a double one. Only one tenth divided Yuki Tsunoda from Max Verstappen.

The Hungarian Grand Prix qualifying turned into a disaster for the Red Bull family, with one car eliminated in Q1 — and it could have easily been a double exit.

Yuki Tsunoda will start tomorrows race from P16 after clocking a 1:15.899 lap in Q1. The Japanese driver missed out on Q2 by just 0.024 seconds, narrowly behind Franco Colapinto, who placed 15th.

What a risk for Verstappen!

Max Verstappen, meanwhile, only managed to reach P11 in Q1 — an uncharacteristically low result for the reigning world champion but realistic due the RB21 performances. He was just 0.143 seconds ahead of Tsunoda, underlining how close he came to elimination himself. With such a narrow gap, a double Q1 knockout for Red Bull was very nearly a reality.

While the senior team struggled, it was Isack Hadjar who stood out among the Red Bull–affiliated drivers. The young Racing Bulls driver managed an impressive P3 in Q1, outperforming both Verstappen and Tsunoda by a significant margin while Lawson did a P14.
