Christian Horner has laid out how Red Bull Racing's approach to the Monaco Grand Prix has not changed even in the face of the much discussed Monaco two pitstop rules. Speaking to Sky Sports after FP1 Horner was asked whether the Austrian outfit would change its approach due to the two mandatory pitstop rules. The Briton was inequivocal in his response.
"No [we haven't changed Friday plans due to the rule change] because you want to qualify as high up as you can."
Monaco pitstop rule 'could be a big lottery'
Whilst qualifying is usually the defining factor of the Grand Prix, this year the set of one-off rules aimed at enhancing the spectacle during the street race in Monte Carlo, could throw a spanner in the works says Horner.
"The two stop could be a bit of a lottery on Sunday. It depends on Safety Car, and weather and tactics and so on."
"It's going to keep the strategists flat out and deliver another element to the race."
