George Russell was at the center of a lighthearted moment with a fan in Monza, adding a rather special autograph to a poster depicting Charles Leclerc’s overtake on him at Zandvoort.

As Formula 1 hits the peak of the Monza weekend, one of the highlights from the recent race at Zandvoort remains Charles Leclerc’s overtake on George Russell.

The move sparked post-race debate and even prompted an investigation by the stewards into the Monegasque driver, which ultimately concluded with no further action taken.

The Ferrari driver had indeed positioned himself alongside the Englishman on the outside, overtaking aggressively and slightly going beyond the white line with all four wheels, while still keeping two on the inside curb.

The two even made contact, with some debris flying off, which, as Russell explained after the race, caused him some performance issues from there on despite finishing fourth in the end.

Russell had also expressed his displeasure over Leclerc’s maneuver, stating: “I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone attempt to overtake on the outside of that corner, because just following the natural racing line, you end up in the gravel yourself.”

The matter seemed to have ended there—at least until this morning, when a video that went viral on social media within hours brought the issue back into the spotlight.

The clip showed a particular autograph that Russell had left on a fan’s poster, which depicted Leclerc’s overtake on him in the Netherlands. However, instead of simply signing it, Russell wrote “off track” on the poster, once again making his feelings on the matter clear.

The episode ended with laughter from both the fans and Russell himself, who then took time to pose for photos and sign autographs for other fans.
