Williams Racing team principal James Vowles has penned a tribute to Lewis Hamilton following the conclusion of the Italian Grand Prix.

The 46-year-old took to his social media to share snapshots with the Scuderia Ferrari driver while reflecting on the fond memories he details to still hold from their stint together.

Sharing a post on his X account, Vowles accompanied it with the caption:

“I will always hold fond memories of all the wins and championships with Lewis; he is, and always will be, a source of inspiration for me.”

Vowles and Hamilton worked together for much of the seven-time world champion’s stint at Mercedes. The former, who started at the Brackley-based outfit in 2010 as Chief strategist, would exit the team at the end of the 2022 campaign as the chief motorsports strategy director.

During their decade-long stint together at the German outfit, which saw the pair record eight constructors’ championship wins, with Hamilton also clinching six of his drivers’ titles with the team, Vowles was responsible for overseeing race strategy, performance analysis and the simulation departments.

Vowles would subsequently leave for the Williams Racing team, where he to take over as team principal, while Hamilton would continue his racing adventure with his move to Scuderia Ferrari ahead of the commencement of the 2025 season.
