The Aston Martin Vantage Safety Car that took to the track during the dramatic finale of the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is now up for sale at an eye-watering price.

Iconic Abu Dhabi 2021 Safety Car hits market at staggering price

It is, in fact, the very car deployed with just a few laps remaining at Yas Marina following Michael Masi’s decision — a call that ultimately proved decisive in the title fight, which had appeared destined for Hamilton before Verstappen emerged victorious on the final lap.

The car is now up for sale via the Auto trader website after featuring at 20 Grands Prix between 2021 and 2023, during which it covered a total of 4,280 kilometres across both track testing and race duties. The asking price has been set at £599,990.

The car, registered on 24 January 2018, is being sold with 12,476 miles on the clock (approximately 20,078 km), while two of the three Safety Cars put up for sale through the British team’s official website have been signed by Aston Martin drivers Alonso and Stroll.

Mercedes unveil striking Safety Car look ahead of 2026 F1 season

The AMG GT Black Series — set to serve as the sole Safety Car on track in 2026 — is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 mounted in a front-mid-engine configuration and paired with a dry-sump lubrication system, a setup engineered to withstand the demands of continuous circuit running.

The engine delivers approximately 720–730 horsepower and around 800 Nm of torque. Its performance figures reflect that pedigree, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in about 3.2 seconds and reaching a top speed of roughly 325 km/h in both road and track specification.
