Toto Wolff has commented on the launch of the new W17, the car Mercedes will race in the 2026 season.
"Releasing the first images of the W17 is simply the next step in that process. It represents the collective, sustained effort of our teams in Brixworth and Brackley"- Toto Wolff
Just a few minutes ago, Mercedes joined Red Bull, Racing Bulls and Audi in unveiling its car for the upcoming season — one that many have already tipped as among the most promising on the grid, despite the fact that any real verdict will only come once it hits the track.
"Formula One will undergo significant change in 2026, and we are prepared for that transition. The new regulations demand innovation and absolute focus across every area of performance," Wolff commented.
"Our work on the new car, and the long-term development of the Power Unit and advanced sustainable fuels with PETRONAS, reflects that approach.
He finally added: "Releasing the first images of the W17 is simply the next step in that process. It represents the collective, sustained effort of our teams in Brixworth and Brackley. We will continue to push hard in the months ahead."

Earlier on Thursday, Mercedes also announced a multi-year partnership with Microsoft Corp, revealed just ahead of the W17 launch.
As explained in a statement from the Brackley-based team, the collaboration is designed to “harness the power of its trusted cloud and enterprise AI technologies across the business, from the factory to the racetrack.”
