Lando Norris crashed into the back of his teammate Oscar Piastri for all the world to see, including the top 3 place-holders after the Canadian Grand Prix. Here's what the trio had to say.
George Russell, Max Verstappen and Andrea Kimi Antonelli sat as the images came up on the screen.
The eventual winner of the race, Russell, said: “This is going to be the lap surely, no?” To which his teammate replied: “No, this the lap. I was a bit uncertain over who to give the slipstream to, you know. They were both DRS, I was like: ‘Left or right?'”
To which Verstappen quipped: “So what did you do? In the middle?”
As the trio laughed, Russell and Verstappen compared the Norris-Piastri clash to another controversial crash between tht then McLaren teammates, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button.
Russell said: “That’s literally like Lewis and Button in 2011.” A statement Verstappen agreed with.

There was no gap Norris could go for ahead of Piastri-clash

Judging the incident the Mercedes senior driver said: “I mean… there was not really a gap there, was there?” To which Verstappen responded with a clear-cut: “No.”
Antonelli then revealed that the crash was not without its dangers to other drivers. “That was scary, though," said the Italian rookie. To which his teammate replied: “Yeah, ’cause that could have…”
Verstappen, said: “Luckily, they put that barrier there.”
Antonelli then saw what he would've done, had Norris' car ended up in the middler of the track: “Oh, yeah! Because oh my God. For me, I would have cut the chicane straight.”
