Max Verstappen is close to a race ban, as he has 11 penalty points on his Formula 1 license. While he made it safely through the Canadian Grand Prix weekend, he is still not safe from a ban. See how many points the rest of the grid has here.

Verstappen is not yet safe from suspension

One race down, one more to go for Verstappen until he is (fairly) safe from a race ban. He made it through the Montreal-based race weekend without any points added; however, due to the expiration date of his first penalty points, he must also make it through the Austrian Grand Prix.

It is not possible for Verstappen to be suspended ahead of the Spielberg race. The stewards can award penalty points for serious incidents during pratice or qualifying sessions, but a possible suspension would be handed out for the next event, meaning the next race weekend.

The first two penalty points are set to expire on June 30th, one day after the race. This means he has to get through all five sessions (three practice, one qualifying, and one race).

If he does receive a suspension, Verstappen will not be travelling to England for the British Grand Prix.

Even if he does make it through the Austrian Grand Prix, he must remain vigilant, as his next two penalty points do not expire until October 27th. This means he will still remain three points away until October.
